Oh my where has the time gone.
Last weekend I went to the SEATTLE KNITTING & FIBER ARTS EXPO, learned tons, and felt really inspired. The expo was at one of the hotels near the airport so on Saturday and Sunday I'd get up early and take the bus out. It was kind of fun, felt like I was going somewhere new and different only I didn't have to actually get on a plane.
I took classes with Mary Anne Oger and Sandee Cherry, both excellent teachers and have really good books and cd's that will help me learn at home, yeah. The classes I took were on necklines, shrugs, wraps, and the magic formula. Tons of helpful tricks and techniques.

On Wednesday E drove me up to somewhere for a private machine knitting lesson. Two hours packed full of information and I bought some more books and tools. The garter bars, in long red box, will be one of those tools I can't live without. Didn't even know about this tool and a few others till I saw them being used at the expo.

Could not resist throwing in these photos from the new sculpture park. Walked down there on Thursday and it was an amazing day.

Wednesday

My days have been full and quiet at the same time, it seems ideal right now. Since the next step has not been very clear I'm trying to just follow my interests and see where they go. Everybody in my life has been super supportive and full of ideas.
The back of Anna is done and one of the fronts is well under way. I'm still liking it and anxious to finish it, but it has been neglected because my hands were bugging me a bit.

In the machine knitting realm I've decided to pull out the first piece I made, it was just not right. Kind of expected it might go that way so not really upset about it, and learned a lot. I've already knit up the pieces for a second cardigan and in the process of putting it together.

I've started to experiment with the red cotton yarn and have lots of ideas, I have this yarn in grey and can invision a light vest thing to go over a t-shirt or tank. Below is a tuck stitch pattern and I really like the looks of it, maybe use it on the lower half of the vest.

This weekend is the SEATTLE KNITTING & FIBER ARTS EXPO and I am super excited about it. I think I'm taking about five classes altogether, all to do with designing and machine knitting, yippee.
Today I:
-Made bad coffee.
-Started liking this red yarn.

It was a mistake in an order I received and the yarn company let me keep it. Absolutely no idea what I will do with it but it could be good for experimenting on the machine.
-Saw a small white dog with pink sunglasses on, we were totally checking each other out. I want some pink sunglasses now.
-Got my last paycheck in the mail, done, finished, ties cut.
-Ordered Appartements d'amoureux a Paris, I have no will power, retail therapy.
-Ate chicken soup and pasted things in my journal.

-started reading "The Collected Stories Of Colette".
-got into a knitting machine groove for the first time.
-learned how to do a shaped neck on the machine.
-made an appointment for a knitting machine lesson, yippeeee.
-read about a rock star who claims to have snorted his fathers ashes.
-accidently closed the window to this post, lost post, and have rewritten it, ugh.
