Thursday

Hello Again.
Decided to change my template today, time for a change. It might take me a few days to update everything, ya know the links and all. It all needed some freshening up.
Took this photo while on a hike on Orcas Island, the views were fantastic.
Okay so this photo does not have a fantastic view in it but I like the color and feel of it.

Wednesday

Wish I Could Have Stayed.
This last weekend on Orcas Island was amazing, despite coming down with a cold on the day we drove out there.

Everything about it was wonderful. The cottage, the water, perfect weather, and many other things. Took lots of photos and will show some in the next few days.
And did I find yarn? Oh yeah!

Tuesday

So the rain has started here in Seattle. I swear I was beginning to think it was a myth or something because the summer was so lovely. Its really nice sitting here at the computer with Una, and listening to the rain come down.

Its an interesting time for me right now. Working in a flower shop, knitting, trying to figure some things out. Gotta say overall I'm having a really good time. Last night I had a dinner at Matt's In The Market and then to a DJ Shadow concert across the way. Definitly something new and I had a great time. This weekend I'm heading off to the San Juan islands for some relaxing, knitting, hot tubbing, hiking, and sitting by the fire. Oooh maybe I should pick up the makings for smores. Oh yeah.

I think I've come across about five or six of these knitted pieces so far. I love happening upon them, makes me happy.

Friday

First Photoshop experiment.

Basically I layered one photo on top of another. I have no idea what I'm doing but it was fun and I'd like to do more with it. Thinking a class in Photoshop and Illustrator could be quite fun.

Thursday

So I can see the season changing a bit now.
The weather, the trees, more layers of clothing on people, the flowers at the shop are changing as well. Right now I'm at my favorite cafe, the chairs outside are empty and its packed inside. Sitting at a lovely large round wooden table with three other people I don't know.
So this is a flame sock, its Lorna's Laces Flame 146 to be exact. Its crazy, cool, a dream to knit with, and really soft to the touch.

Burly Spun in progress.

Sock Yarn. Okay so I've been holding out on you. I went sock yarn crazy again. The two examples below happened just before and during my trip to Port Townsend. I could not resist the colors. I keep them out on my table so I can see them and continue to drool over them.

This might be the first semi solid color sock yarn I've bought. I can't completly call it a solid color because its got so many lovely blue and green tones in it that I feel it would be a disgrace to write solid. Nope not solid. Yeap I'm rambling on.

So I'm supposed to be here at the cafe catching up on my emails . I seem to be avoiding it . Its not that I don't want to communicate its just that the list has gotten long.
Oh and I wanted to figure out what to do with my life. I think I need another cafe au lait for that.
Please excuse my strange mood.
The lady with the really, really stronge perfume is leaving maybe now I can get some things done.

Sunday

Stephanie Pearl-McPhee.
Last Sunday I went with a friend to see Stephanie Pearl-McPhee and it was so much fun.
First of all when we got there it was crowded yet there were two lovely oversized cushy chairs waiting for us. We could see and hear perfectly well and knit away the whole time. She was so much fun to listen to, laughed a lot, and she cheered me right up. After the reading we got in line for the signing and she is soo nice. She also had her olympic sweater, it is amazing to see, and she also showed everybody the inside of the sweater.
Here we are with our socks in progress.

A finished pair of socks. Amazing isn't it.
The yarn is Fortissima Colori, Schoeller and Stahl, I think its called the Missoni colorway, and this colorway is 3001.
They are a bit too big and the heels are atrocious but I absolutly love them and can't wait to wear them.

Simply could not make up my mind as to which photos to show so I didn't and so you have double's. Sort of.

Saturday

Hello.
Coral and rocks I collected from Port Townsend.
I love the feel of the rocks, smooth. Sometimes I carry a small one in my pocket.

Below is a mega ball of yarn that was retail therapy. Its Brown Sheeps Burly Spun in Sable and its one of two hanks thats going to make a short sweater or maybe shrug. Thank you Boston knitters, your gift card was a lovely treat. Its going to be knit in one piece from sleeve to sleeve, like Lara, and loosely based on a pattern from Loop-d-Loop.

If you love old libraries like I do please go here and drool.
Knitting photos to come in the next day or two.

Friday

Really sad right now.
Metro, my older cat, died Wednesday night.
Just really sad right now.
Below are some random pictures from my trip to Port Townsend last weekend.
It was a wonderful trip.
